Good and tiny place.....It's in the strip mall on Harper, just next to Tubby's subs I believe. Has pierogis, stuffed cabbage, the "scoop" of mashed potatoes....you usually have to get it to go, I think there are 3 tables there, not that you can't eat in, it's just a tiny place, and I think you'll get plastic plates and silverware, if you don't mind that.

Breaks my heart to write this review since the food tasted great. The server (Celina's friend) had an attitude. Back to the food. The Kielbasa, city chicken, stuffed cabbage, sour kraut and pierogi tasted great. Each was prepared fine and had great flavor. ****BUT*** The portions are simply unacceptable. My stuffed cabbage was gone in three bites. If you took a Twinkie and cut it in half lengthwise, that is what I got. Unbelievable. My piece of Kielbasa was no longer than my pinky finger (I actually held my pinky to it and my pinky was longer). The pierogi were normal size. The City Chicken was half (like the stuffed cabbage) the size that it should be and any Polish person is used to. A $10 combo plate then an order of 2 City Chickens for $5.30. Over $15 in food and I was still hungry afterwards. I will drive to Hamtramck or out to 15 Mile And Dequindre for now on. At least I can leave with a full belly there:):):) Sorry Celina...stop serving up crumbs of portions and maybe I will give your restaurant another try! Despite the attitude I received for asking questions about the menu, I would give you one more chance. For those wondering about the attitude. They have a menu on the wall. I stood at the counter and asked for the combo (left side) it said it came with a crepe. So I asked what kind of crepe? I received the reply, "Why can't you look on the right side under "Order sides" ? "It says what it is there and we only serve one kind (strawberry yogurt) of crepe"! I replied well I ordered from the left side and why don't you place that description over there? I am only asking a simple question." I received more attitude. As if I was so out-of-line for asking. Whatever. I am 50 years old and I never had attitude issues at Zosia's or Polish Eagle in Hamtramck...never! Never had attitude out at 15 & Dequindre either! Customer BEWARE at Celina's

The older woman (Celina?) who took my order was in a terrible mood. She also continuously sniffled and wiped her nose with her bare hand the entire time. Disgusting. Keilbasa- Fantastic and tasted like my grandfather's homemade. Pierogi- Potatoe. Ok, standard. Stuffed Cabbage- Too big to soak up any flavor. Filling consists of rice and meat only. I like some veggies. very, very bland. City Chicken- Dried out and bland. Lacking any salt. Cabbage Soup- Whole lotta' cabbage notta' lotta' both. It is located in a strip mall. There is no ambiance. I love polish food and I will not return. Get a box of tissue.....

The sign says they are open from 12-6 Tuesday through Saturday. I'm here at 1pm on a Tuesday and they are closed. This is very disappointing. Review may change upon trying the good IF I come back here.

This was my second time here. The first time was fine and I enjoyed the food. It was the beginning of the day and Celina was nice and the food was fresh as well as tasty. My visit tonight was much less enjoyable. I called about 30 minutes before close for a carry out. The woman on the phone was rude and made it very clear they were closing soon. I said I understood as I was about 10 minutes or less away. I asked a few questions about the Combo plate and was treated as if I was stupid. I tried to pass it off as just an end to a stressful day for the restaurant staff and left with my carry out. 2 Combo Plates, and a side of soup ran me a little over $25. To say I was disappointed when I opened my carry out container at home would be an huge understatement. The flavorless kielbasa was about 2 inches long. The boring stuffed cabbage was about the size of 2 golf balls put side by side. Their crepes were excellent as was the kraut. No potatoes, no soup, and no beets (not their fault). To pay over 25.00 and be so utterly disappointed with the food, portion sizes, and attitude of the staff was disheartening. I will not go back to Celina's again. If you are looking for excellent Polish food I found John and Mila's on 9 mile Rd in Warren this week and paid 11.50 for a Combo Plate and received double the food. The food was excellent, the service was slow but well worth it.

At a friend's recommendation, I tried Celina's. I had the Polish Plate. Now, I'm not Polish, and I didn't grow up eating authentic Polish food, but, I have to say, from the stuffed cabbage to the Polish sausage to the pierogis and cabbage, I was blown away!!! I only wish Celina's place were closer to where I live, in Dearborn!!! If you're looking for an amazing introduction to Polish cuisine, I highly recommend Celina's!!!

Celina Banka is the suburban Queen of Polish food. This is the real deal, from Celina and her merry helpers all working busily and conversing in Polish. Kielbasa is all fresh, not smoked, and delicious, served with fried onions and sometimes peppers. I think it depends on Celina's mood. Pierogi are delicious, fried perfectly. Get multiple sets of whatever is fresh and hot that day. You can't lose. Nalisniki and Potato Pancakes...very very good. The sauce on the nalisniki is a bit fake looking with its pink hue...but it sure tastes good. Every soup I've had has been fantastic, particularly Chicken Noodle and Cabbage. On a Friday, my friend and I will drive out to the restaurant and order enough food to tide us over for the weekend. Well...we think it's going to last the weekend...it usually doesn't last the night! I'm looking forward to trying her City Chicken and her Stuffed Cabbage. I've heard rave reviews. Plan on carrying out -- the three tables in the restaurant are usable if necessary, but the food lasts just fine until you get it home. Celina simply makes the crowds and the waiting in Hamtramck unnecessary. I think we all owe her a thank you and numerous visits. May she stay open forever!!!

This will be my go to place when I don't want to drive to Hamtramck. Great food and friendly service. Had the Polish plate in order to sample various items. Everything was delicious. The kielbasa was smooth, tender and very flavorful. Love the pierogi. The dough isn't too thick. They are generously stuffed and there are a variety of flavors. The mushroom kraut is my new favorite. Took home some frozen ones for later. Got to meet Celina. Very nice lady. No dissapointments here. Will definitely visit again.

Pierogis too doughy and greasy...sauerkraut had no taste. Cuke salad was sweet. I have had better.

A tiny gem. Pay attention or youll miss it. Fantastic food, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Definitely take out though. Only a scant few tables. If your grandmother cooked you your first pierogies, you wont be disappointed.

We were greeted by Celina herself when we walked in. She was so welcoming and friendly and we chatted a bit before we placed our order. I decided on the stuffed cabbage meal, which came with mashed potatoes & gravy and hot beets. All of which were very good, so good you would swear it was made by your own grandmother. My husband had the pieroges, which was the reason why we came and he said the meat ones were OK, but the potato was the best he ever had. On a side note, you can purchase frozen pieroges and make them at home.

Good Polish carryout on the far Eastside? Yuppers baby. All meals were made to order except for the stuffed cabbage and all were top notch. Had a combo of stuffed cabbage, sausage, mashed potatoes and peirogies. And dill pickle soup. As good as Hamtown

Where else do you find true authentic Polish food like this - especially in Macomb County!? This place is fantastic!!! The woman who helps me is always such a sweetheart and the food is always amazing!! I recently moved out of the area but come here every time I am in the nearby. I never step out of the box much, just like the other reviewer, I usually only get the perogies or stuffed cabbage. (Real mashed potatoes, too!) Always good.

Under new management and the food and service is even better. It was good before, but great now! Loved the city chicken! The new owner is going to be adding old world food items & family recipies based on her family's polish heritage. She comes from a polish family with her mother being well known as a baker and gormet chef. Can't wait to go back and eat some more great food!
